A George III Ash Primitive Stick Chair of primitive country craftmanship. Circa 1780.
It has a generous plank seat supported by slightly splayed legs and the curved back has 14 spindles with a naturally curved rail. A beautiful example of vernacular furniture.
The Ash has been sun bleached over the centuries and has a lovely mellow patina.
In a nice sturdy condition with obvious age related signs of wear, tear and the front right hand leg has been replaced but a very long time ago.
