An antique Welsh Oak Cwpwrdd Deuddarn C.1800. "Cwpwrdd Deuddarn" literally means "two-part cupboard" and this lovely piece of Welsh furniture is a very good example.
The top section features a classic moulded cornice above a central panel that has a panelled door on either side; one opens to reveal a cupboard with several small drawers and compartments, while the other opens to reveal a good- sized cupboard with a shelf.
The bottom section has three drawers above a two-door cupboard, and it stands on square feet.
The colour of this piece is beautiful, with a great patina, and provides both storage and antique charm for a country-style home.
It remains in original condition with wear expected from age and use, along with signs of ancient woodworm in the backboards.
