A late 18th C. Oak Lambing Chair. Featuring a high panelled back, carved shaped arms and a large drawer with an iron handle beneath the seat.
A nice piece of vernacular country furniture for a kitchen or beside a fireplace.
Traditionally these were used by shepherds to sit by a fire overnight during lambing season, the storage beneath the seat being used for blankets or to keep sickly lambs for warmth.
In good solid condition with age related signs of wear and use.
