A very pretty, late Victorian Chinoiserie Writing Table or Side Table.  It is a beautiful deep red colour with gilt decoration depicting typical Chinese scenes.
It does have signs of wear to the gilt decoration and lacquer as would be expected from age and use and some historic repair to the right hand corner of the raised back.
